Thank you for considering me.
I'm currently an assistant of the college Mathematics department, a college tutor, a substitute teacher and a tutor of grade school and high school students...students and Math are my life :) I'm usually a long-term tutor and mentor for an average of 10 students at any given time. These students are often a blend of traditional, gifted, some that struggle, a homeschooler, and some with an IEP or disability (Autism and Aspergers).
I love to help students with their math curriculum (algebra, trigonometry, geometry, calculus and honors and AP). And if the need arises, even science (Chemistry and Physics), reading and comprehension.
My past experience includes the following: I have taught adult education, elementary and high school, trade schools and even worked with 16 four-year-old daycare youngsters. I've volunteered with Junior Achievement at the elementary and middle school levels. I've enjoyed working with AmeriCorp and their Educational Scholarship Program with at risk students.
I'm currently finishing my Secondary Education - Mathematics degree and Special Education minor at York College. I received my first bachelor's degree from York College in Computer Science in 1986 with additional studies in Accounting, Business Management and Education (field experience at William Penn and Spring Grove Area Schools).
I've been a husband for 29 years and father for 26. I've been teaching in some form since 1986. I was a nationally ranked swimmer (freestyle sprints) and was also a high school swimming/diving coach. My prior work experience was quite diverse and included working for global, fortune 50 companies. I have also enjoyed international public speaking assignments in Europe.
I would enjoy the opportunity to meet with you, initially without charge...then we'll focus on solidifying your foundation, preparing you for growth. It's not about me, it's about you, it's about us making a true connection and helping you to excel...please read my feedback and then let's get STARTED!
