Latoya graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in December of 2007 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Medicine and a minor in Chemistry. Currently, she is pursuing her Master's in Physician Assistance. Her goal is to practice pediatric medicine in inner city poverty stricken communities. Latoya has been heavily involved in advocating education and excellence in young people through various avenues. These avenues include FOCUS--Facilitating Opportunity and Climate for Under-represented Students--a departmental program at the University of Pittsburgh, where she tutored college students in sciences and math as well as provided mentorship for college freshman; Fifth Quarter Tutoring--a tutoring program in place to assist high school students with various subjects including math, science, and English; University of Pennsylvania's Freedom School Summer enrichment program, where she taught a health and wellness class for elementary age students. Many of Latoya's students appreciate her ability to break down seemingly difficult concepts into simpler more comprehensible ideas through the use of analogies and other tactics.
