I taught fifth grade in the public schools for ten years. I resigned in 2005 to raise my children, but have stayed active in education through attending professional development courses, teaching preschool, and tutoring. I am currently finishing up my first year teaching second grade and advanced learners at a cyber school.
In the seven years that I have been a private tutor, I have had the privilege of working with children of all ages from diverse backgrounds. I have tutored in all core subject areas, though I hold a Level II certification in elementary education.
My goal is to make tutoring fun and engaging by incorporating technology and activities that require active involvement. My diverse and extensive experience has enabled me to build a repertoire of methods, strategies, manipulatives, and games that successfully motivate each learner and take into account different learning styles. I am a passionate creative planner and I get results!
Although I am a seasoned teacher, I have a youthful and enthusiastic approach. I am always excited to see the progress of my students and witness the success they achieve!
