I first caught the tutoring bug when I was working as a behavioral mentor with at-risk kids in the school system. Although I enjoyed the work and the age group (teens), helping them academically was not in my job description and was actually frowned upon. But I found that this was what I really wanted to do! Shortly after that, I began tutoring math online. I loved the job and quickly rose to a Tutor III, the highest rank, and have worked with hundreds of students. I also worked as a mentor for new tutors. When my son was a junior I helped him and his girlfriend with SAT prep. That was back in 2008 and I haven’t looked back!
I have taken the SAT and ACT recently and my composite score is in the 97th percentile. I have always been a good test taker and I have spent years perfecting my own method of helping students master the art. Each lesson is customized to meet the individual needs and goals of the student. Tutoring is my profession and it’s how I help pay for tuition for three in college, but the reward of getting that email or call from parents who tell me their child got the score they wanted is priceless!
