My name is Mr. L. and I hold a degree from West Chester University to teach English at the secondary level, in grades 7-12. I chose to be a teacher because I love working with kids. I chose English because I have always had a love of words and language. English was always my strongest subject throughout school; I have never had a moment's struggle when it came to expressing myself either orally or on paper. I have a particular passion for grammar and I truly enjoy being able to demystify this topic for students. If you require help in strengthening your reading comprehension, I can definitely help you in this area as well. In addition to English, you probably noticed that I included 'Basic Math Skills' in my profile. Although I don't hold a degree to teach math, I am very proficient with these basic number skills leading up to Algebra. I have taught English in both Pennsylvania and California. During the school year, most of my time is spent substituting for the Downingtown school district.
