I have over 15 years of teaching and tutoring experience. I have a dynamic style and I can help you reach your goals. The tutoring I offer will be creative and results-oriented providing laser-focused instruction that benefits students directly and immediately.
I have a fairly well defined approach and philosophy toward education and teaching, although I am always open to new ideas and methods. I believe teaching is a mission – Kahlil Gibran (The Prophet, 1923 and 1986) defines work as love made visible. I believe this is an excellent definition of teaching. I also believe teaching should be exciting and enthusiastic; it should engage all students and have some meaning in their lives. First and foremost, I try and distinguish teaching from training – training is to “put in”, while educating is to “draw out."
My areas for tutoring are Biology, AP Biology, Honors Biology, Environmental Science, Chemistry and Middle School Science. I received the Recognition of Excellence Award for the Praxis Biology: Content Knowledge exam.
