I am currently an undergraduate student at George Washington University. I am double-majoring in Anthropology and Dance and I am minoring in Spanish. I took my first Spanish course my freshman year of high school and began college in the Advanced I Spanish Course and am near fluent. I am passionate about both the Spanish language and culture and am even more passionate about spreading it through other people. I love tutoring and am really excited to work with all levels of Spanish students!
In the past, I have worked with students in grade school, from 6th to 11th grade, but believe I can work with younger and older kids, as well. I worked through my high school program and successfully helped students with comprehension, literature, grammar, writing, and even cultural concepts. In order to understand a lot of Spanish grammar and literature, one must first understand how the Spanish and Latin American cultures differ from our own. My tutoring method is very casual, comfortable, and conversational. I was there once, so I know how it feels to struggle with language. I understand the nerves and the frustrations; when I tutor, I am sure to use up the hour(s) efficiently, and you will not leave the same way you came. I assure you that your frustrations/confusions walking into our session will be eased and clarified. I lead organized tutoring sessions where I present strategies to make your Spanish learning experience easier. I teach you, but I do not tell you what or how to think. You will develop skills on your own that I simply guide. This is your journey and I cannot wait to help you.
