After completing my Bachelor's degree in History at Franklin and Marshall College, I enrolled a Masters program at the University of the Arts in Museum Education. I am completing that program now while working in the education department at Please Touch Museum. Along with my current position, I have worked in a variety of museums in the Philadelphia region in educational roles. My experiences in museums and education has allowed me to hone my research, reading comprehension, writing, and teaching skills.
I genuinely believe that history can be a fascinating subject to study, though I have found that many students struggle to find it interesting. I work with students to find ways to make the subject relevant and interesting to them. If students are not motivated by interest it can be very difficult to put in the required effort to succeed. Using personalized teaching methods developed with the student, we will create a systems for studying that works.
In conjunction with my interest tutoring history students, I am well qualified to help those student struggling with English as well. I am excited to tutor students who many need help with research, writing, sentence structure, and reading comprehension.
