Prior to becoming a certified teacher, I worked in the human service field with developmentally delayed adults and victims of domestic violence. In 2008, I received my teacher certifications in elementary and special education. I worked as an emotional support/learning support teacher and then became a substitute teacher. Being highly qualified, I am a capable and creative educator, utilizing a variety of teaching strategies to motivate students. Students learn best when they understand a purpose and connection to their learning and when they are enjoying themselves. Depending on the individual, I use strategies that will work for that student; visual, auditory, demonstration/hands-on, and mnemonics. I am a flexible and caring professional using my teaching and life knowledge to meet the diverse needs of students. I understand that quality education is a partnership between home and school.
