I have considerable tutoring experience. From September 2003 to April 2004, I was a peer tutor while a student at Luzerne County Community College, tutoring students in math, science, English, and reading. In 2004, I received an Outstanding Performance Award for Student Tutoring Services. I also peer tutored briefly while a student at Penn State Worthington-Scranton.
Much of my experience also comes from online tutoring. For a short period of time, I was a live tutor for Tutor.com. From December 2011 to the present, I have been a Homework Expert for JustAnswer, completing over 600 question-and-answer sessions with an overall rating of 99.8 percent.
My educational experience also lends itself to tutoring. I graduated, cum laude, from Luzerne County Community College in August 2004 with my Associate of Science degree in General Studies. I graduated from Fort Hays State University in May 2009 with my Bachelor of General Studies degree. Most recently, I graduated from Nova Southeastern University in September 2012 with my Master of Accounting degree.
I do not use any particular tutoring methods per se, but realize that each student has a different style of learning. Some students prefer to work through their assignments from the very beginning. Others prefer to do their assignments in advance and work through them as a review. Still others simply need help preparing for an upcoming exam. Each scenario comes with its own focus and style of learning.
