I earned a bachelor's degree in Math and Computer Science from Juniata College. For the past three years I've spent hundreds of hours tutoring students online in high school and college math, at all levels from Algebra I through introductory Calculus. This has included students coming in with a wide variety of levels of math understanding, and has required me to have a very good and readily-accessed knowledge of the types of questions and issues that a student might encounter in these varied subjects.
One of the most frequent comments that I've gotten from students is that I'm very patient with them. This makes me happy, since I believe it's important, to let each student progress at their own pace, and put concepts together in their own way. This is part of what drew me to math, that you can come at a problem in many different ways, and still arrive at the same conclusion. Also, I really enjoy seeing students develop more confidence in their own problem-solving abilities, not just in math, but in life in general.
