Greetings!
I have always been a person who has prided herself in being able to communicate with people. I guess that's why I became a teacher: that, and my love of language, literature and writing! I have spent the best years of my life as a high school teacher of Advanced Placement English Language and Literature, and enjoyed every minute of it! In June, when most of my colleagues were starting their vacations, the thought of grading more essays had little appeal. But for me, serving as an AP reader was an exciting opportunity to see what the best high school writers in the nation were capable of achieving! A strong advocate for the importance of high expectations in the classroom and the power of AP courses in preparing students for college, I decided after thirty years to accept a position with the College Board. In my role as an educational manager, I had the privilege of introducing school districts to strategies for raising the SAT and AP scores of their students. This was indeed a labor of love!
As a former AP English teacher, AP reader and workshop presenter for the College Board, I can provide valuable instruction in preparation for both the multiple choice and free response sections of the AP English Literature and Language exams, as well as the verbal and writing sections of the SAT.
For me, this will always be a labor of love!
