I am a tutor with an outgoing personality and big sense of humor. My friends would describe me as a passionate person who has an ability to make people feel really comfortable. I am currently a doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology program at GFU. I graduated from Indiana University with a BA in psychology and English with Honors. I love playing with my Australian Shepherd, Evie, hiking throughout the PNW with my husband, and sampling from all of the local food carts! I am also an avid runner and fiction writer- I love to write in the Young Adult genre.
My tutoring experience has specifically been with high school and college age students, though I feel that I would be successful with students in elementary and middle school as well. Throughout my undergraduate experience, I worked as both a volunteer tutor and paid Supplemental Instructor for psychology. I received very positive evaluations from my students in my Supplemental Instructor position, and my supervisor has used me as an example of what tutoring in their program should look like.
I also tutored throughout high school, and I was captain of the English Academic Team (nerdy, right?). I received departmental honors for my English BA, and wrote and defended an Honors Thesis. Though I feel that psychology and language arts or English are the subjects I am most passionate about, I have a high competency in the sciences, and am able to tutor in that area from an elementary level up through high school biology. I can also tutor college level anthropology and sociology.
Thanks so much for reading my profile! I look forward to working with you or your student.
