Hello and thanks for your interest in hiring me as your tutor. I am here to help you understand complex concepts and make real breakthroughs in your academic pursuits.
I received a bachelors degree in Computer Engineering from Penn State University in 2000. Since then I've worked for many engineering companies developing electronic devices for many years. Employers included big names like Intel and General Electric, but I've really enjoyed working for the small guys where I performed many different roles: circuit design, schematic entry, firmware programming, FPGA programming, systems engineering, and many more.
I also have a masters of Environmental Science from Portland State University. Here I completed many advanced courses in various fields including math, physics, chemistry, and more.
I love learning and teaching and it gives me a real thrill when I can help someone better understand their coursework.
Today I am a freelance engineer and research scientist. I'm not really here for the money, rather a chance to get more teaching experience and help students succeed.
I hope to hear from you.
My undergraduate degree involved a lot of C programming for microcontrollers. After college I immediately started programming microcontroller firmware in C in the video electronics industry. Today I have about 10 years of experience programming in C for many different processors.
My undergraduate degree involved several C++ programming courses. After college, I immediately started programming microcontroller firmware in C and C++ in the video electronics industry. Today I have about 10 years of experience programming in C and C++ for many different processors, platforms, and operating systems.
I have a BS in Computer Engineering from Penn State University. I have worked for Intel, GE, and many other companies as an embedded systems engineer. I have extensive experience designing real-time logic and digital circuits as well as programming firmware. I have taught science programs in the past.
I have a BS in Computer Engineering from Penn State University. I have worked for Intel, GE, and many other companies as an embedded systems engineer. I have extensive experience designing real-time logic and digital circuits as well as programming firmware. Languages used include C, assembly, Python, VHDL, and more.
I have a BS in Computer Engineering from Penn State University. This degree involved numerous comp sci classes including data structures, C, C++, assembly, computer vision, software organization, etc. I have worked for Intel, GE, and many other companies as an embedded systems engineer. I have over 15 years of experience programming firmware for many different processors using many different languages.
I have administrator level knowledge of most operating systems. I have years of web development experience. I have experience designing computers themselves!
I have a background in Unix and have a administrator level understanding of Mac O/S.
I have over 20 years of computer experience and am a professional engineer. I have an administrator level knowledge of MS Windows. University jobs included computer support where I spent much time assisting and instructing users on how to setup and use Windows. I have much experience with every single version of Windows from 3.1 up.
If I hadn't gone gotten my degree in Computer Engineering, I would have gotten it in Physics. In high school I excelled in both basic and advanced physics (2 years). As part of my engineering background I took an additional 2 years of physics, plus other courses which involved advanced physics principles. As part of my graduate work I took two advanced physics courses which involved things like mixing and fluid dynamics as well as atmospheric modeling. It sometimes takes me a minute to dust off a random physics principle, but I feel like I have a knack at explaining the fundamental idea. I'm not not going to try to get you to memorize equations. For me physics is understanding how the world works at a very fundamental level and requires a little imagination!
I have a BS in Computer Engineering from Penn State University. I have worked for Intel, GE, and many other companies as an embedded systems engineer. I have about 2 years of Python experience as part of this work. Most recently, I developed a real-time water sensor scientific data collection software package entirely in Python.
I have designed dozens of web sites both hand coded and using content management systems such as WordPress and Drupal. I have implemented reservations systems, online stores, and more. I have a deep understanding of CSS, and the ability to modify PHP.
