I am an experienced retired 40 year high school and community college mathematics teacher. I have taught every subject in mathematics in the typical high school and community college. We have retired to Oregon where I grew up. The bulk of my teaching has been in California. I have a Life Credential in secondary mathematics with a minor in Physical Science for the state of California. I have a valid Oregon teaching credential with an endorsement in advanced mathematics. I would still like to remain involved with young people in their pursuit of mathematical knowledge. I have been selected for Who's Who in math teaching in California many times. I have been selected as the most influential teacher on a number of times for students entering the Univ. of California system. With my wife and 3 children we went to the Australian state of Victoria for a two year teaching fellowship that I was awarded. Students loved my classes because I made them fun with games and puzzles. I always had challenge problems for those interested, and included daily skills remediation by having students keep a journal. In California where I did the most teaching, parents would request that I tutor their child--some of these students were not in my class. In other words the parent network knew where there was a good tutor. I would love to stay involved with students and with my mathematics. It keeps me young.
