I am an Early Childhood/Elementary education graduate from Western Oregon University. I was a student teacher in the Salem/Keizer School District from September 2011-December 2012. In this program, I created and assessed units of instruction on math, health, and social studies topics.
I am currently a substitute teacher in the Hood River County School District. I am also pursuing my Masters degree and English for Speakers of Other Languages endorsement through the Concordia University Online program.
I have also volunteered on and off in the Hood River County School District from 2006-present, both at Westside Elementary and Mid Valley Elementary. I have worked with students from Kindergarten up to the Fifth grade. My duties consisted of teaching lessons and working with students one-on-one.
I love working with children, and I always tailor my lessons to fit my students needs. Teaching for understanding is very important to me. If I feel a student is not comprehending something, I will reteach the topic until they can demonstrate proficiency. I do like to use assessments as a tool to not only monitor my students' progress but also a guide in planning my lessons.
Whether your child needs help improving in an area or if they want to prepare themselves for the following school year, I am here to help! Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
