I have been teaching ESL for 6 years. I have a master's degree from UNI in TESOL/Spanish. I've traveled extensively in Europe and the Middle East during my college years and taught ESL in Chile, South America. My first teaching experience was with small groups of special education students in Middle and High School. As an ESL coordinator, I tutored Hispanic high school students in all subjects.
My future plans are to attend immersion language schools to improve my own Spanish speaking skills, and to discover what other methods work best for students. I also want to travel to foreign countries that need ESL instructors. Throughout past years, I have been a swimming coach, instructor, and lifeguard at community pools. I have also studied ballet, ballroom dance, and Latin dance as part of my BA degree in physical education. At present I have a substitute teaching license for the state of Oregon and teach grades K-12. I also teach college level Spanish at Lane Community College in Florence, Oregon.
Recently I have attended a 200 hour yoga certification program and will begin teaching yoga in the evenings.
