I graduated as Chemist from The Chemistry Faculty at Lomonosov, Moscow State University in 1984.
I worked as a chemist Professor at Havana University from 1988 till 1992.
I have tough chemistry in several Universities of Nicaragua and Costa Rica.
Beside of the teaching and tutoring experience I had made a lot of research for several universities and private pharmaceutical laboratories in several countries and participated in several international forums and congresses in the field of chemistry and pharmaceutical technology.
Since I came to USA in 2007 I have been working as a chemist in an analytical laboratory testing food, pesticides and pharmaceutical drugs as a chemist supervisor and the person in charge of analytical instrumentation analysis by HPLC, GC & GC-MS.
From 2008 to 2012 I had the opportunity to help tutor students from the FSCJ disability office, and among the subjects I tutored were Algebra I, II and trigonometry.
I can do that due to my background in chemistry and specialty in thermodynamics and kinetics, where math, statistics, calculus and physics are mandatory.
I have been a chemistry professor for more than 25 years!
I taught at the Havana University at the Faculty of Pharmacy and after I left Cuba in 1993, I also taught at several universities of Latin America where I was living or invited to gives courses and lectures.
Besides the regular teaching I have always been active in research and most of the work had deal with chemistry and related to chemistry field of pharmaceutical technology.
I have two masters’ one in chemical thermodynamics and the other in chemical kinetics.
Since I permanently moved to USA in 2007, I have been working as an active chemist in an analytical laboratory, where I'm the supervisor of the pharmaceutical group and in charge of the high tech. instrumentation of HPLC, GC and GC-MS.
I also have been doing tutoring for the State College in chemistry, math and statistic as a way to improve my fluency in English and as a way to do community help work.
I graduated from Lomonosov State University in Moscow in 1984 after I completed 5 year of University including the full course of organic chemistry I, II and III and a special course of organic synthesis. For both of the two masters of Science I have, one in chemical thermodynamics and one in chemical kinetic, several theoretical and practical advanced organic topis were covered.
In my everyday practice as a chemist at the laboratory, dealing with pharmaceutical and chemical compounds organic chemistry always have been a fundamental part of the knowledge to have and use.
As a chemical professor and tutor I have helped several students with organic chemistry.
I have been a Professor at the University level for the School of Pharmacy in several Countries, among them Pharmacy Institute of Havana and Costa Rica School of Pharmacy.
One of my subjects was Pharmaceutical Technology where, among several topics, the students have to gather the skill and knowledge of the difference between different pharmaceutical forms and develop the ability to perform a wide variety of dosage calculation operations.
There are other topics in Pharmacology that are part of my expertise, such as those related with Physical, Chemistry, Colloidal Chemistry, Organic Functional Groups, Kinetics and Pharmacokinetics.
I have taught all of the above topics at the university level and all of them are in some way directly related with Pharmaceutical Technology and Pharmacology.
Prealgebra involves many common calculations that a professional chemist has to perform daily.
As a chemist, I have to perform different kinds of calculation every day both in routine analytical procedures and for research and development tasks.
Prealgebra is a subject, along with algebra, geometry, pre calculus, and calculus, statistics, among others, that is a meaningful tool for chemist and because of that I try to be sharp with it.
I study for 7 years in the former Soviet Union from 1977 to 1984.
During this time I attended Moscow State University where I graduated as a Chemist and achieved a Master of Science in thermodynamic and a certification as a technical translator from Russian to Spanish.
Because of my pretty good academic results and fluency in Russian language I could work as technical translator for the Cuban Embassy from 1982 till 1984 and later when I return to Cuba I worked for some Russian Firms that operated in Havana Cuba where I did translation from Russian to Spanish, Russian to English and vice versa.
I have been a chemistry professor for more than 25 years!
Teaching chemistry relates subjects and doing scientific research has been my major goals. However, because I studied in Moscow Russia, where I spent a little more than seven years and at that time I wanted to master the Russian language as soon as possible, I found that one very successful way was to teach Spanish, my primary and mother language.
I also decided to teach Spanish not only because was my mother language, but because I’m an educated Spanish speaking person.
You could find people that are able to communicate and speak but if they do not now the grammar rules, they are not well linguistic educated speaker.
Due to my solid Spanish grammar formation background I had experienced that I could teach Spanish in a very helpful tested way.
In USA I had taught Spanish also to several people and it has always been a very interesting experience, by the way, for both the Spanish learning student and the English leaning teaching.
I always try to combine the best possible knowledge with my own experience of learning languages and of course not disregarding the prevailing authorized courses and books.
Awesome tutor! — Jorge was very helpful with tutoring me in chemistry. He was patient in making sure that I understood every concept before moving on and broke everything down to make it easier to understand. I highly recommend him! ...
