Greetings,

I teach and tutor mathematics and I am eager to help. I have taught algebra, trig., and calculus. I have been tutoring both high school and college level math for many years, during which time I won an excellence in tutoring award for my friendly nature and eagerness to help. When I tutor, I start by assessing where the student is at and what he or she needs help with. I then cover the material necessary to successfully complete that type of problem and walk through an example or two. After that I have the student try, with some guidance when needed. We stay at this until the student is able to complete that type of problem with out assistance. At the end of each session we review what we learned that day and how we can use it to solve the next problem.

Algebra 1

I believe in an axiomatic approach to beginning Algebra with a strong focus on explaining what properties are being used and why. This approach leads to a deeper knowledge of Algebra and more importantly it develops the strong reasoning skills required to master further topics.

I have been teaching Algebra for a while now. I believe in an axiomatic approach to Algebra with a strong focus on explaining what properties are being used and why. Calculus

I have tutored students in Calculus many times. I also taught a Calculus class while I was in grad school. I am quite familiar with the topic.

Prealgebra

Praxis

I believe I can tutor for the Praxis II Math exam because I am intimately familiar with the subject. In addition I have taken the exam a few times (twice for practice once for real) and did exceptionally well each time.

The default rate applies to the first hour of each session, each hour after that is half price. Example: A three hour session at 30/hr would be 30+15+15=60.
