Currently, I am working in Medical Records, having obtained an Associate Degree in Health Information Technology. I also volunteer for the YWCA, as an outreach advocate for victims of sexual assault. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, with minors in Sociology and French from Bowling Green State University. While I was obtaining that degree, I worked on an independent research project and tutored fellow students in the writing lab on campus. In addition, I have been employed as an administrative assistant; my experience with Microsoft Office began during my 10 years in that position. That experience was honed by a class taken at OCC during my first semester.
I discovered tutoring at Bowling Green State University, in the writing lab, and learned in that position to communicate with a wide variety people. I know how important it is to put information in the simplest, most understandable terms. Some of my clients in that setting were ESL students, working on long research projects to finish their degrees. Some were first year students who had less practice writing papers. The teaching skills I learned there will serve well for any subject.
Thank you for this opportunity to help.
