Hi,

My name is Lauren and I hope I am the right tutor for you!

I am currently a high school Special Education teacher. I received my Bachelors degree in Special Education at Bluffton University, and excel at working with students who have special needs. I have worked with all age groups and in all subject areas. I am currently working with Liberty Center schools in a classroom for students with behavior needs. I teach every subject to these students. I have taught resource room math, so I am skilled at elementary level math as well as high school math. Being in the special education field I have tutored in all subject areas and am highly qualified in math, English, and science. I am from a family of educators and enjoy doing it. I am a hard worker and I never give up.

My teaching style varies based on what the individual student needs. Not all students learn the same way, so they all should not be taught in the same way. I like the hands on approach, allowing the student to move around and interact with me. I also do a lot with concrete examples.

I look forward to hearing from you!

If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

What I find helpful when teaching a new concept to a student, and it is something I really want them to remember, come up with a silly saying or chant to help out. For example when teaching a student that when you are multiplying two negative integers together the product is always a positive integer. I have my students learn this little chant, negative times negative, equals, papositive positive... read more
