Hello! My name is Elizabeth and I enjoy teaching math: such as Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry and Pre-Algebra.
My knowledge base also includes Microsoft Office, Photoshop and various web development content management systems. (WordPress, Joomla and Drupal)
Math and software overlap in a variety of ways and I love exploring new concepts and new software.
- Many years of experience teaching and tutoring students of all ages.
- Before working on websites I taught for Akron Public Schools as a sub
- Aced College Algebra and did well in Calculus
- Local & National background check processed and passed. (Not through WyzAnt, but directly through the Federal Government)
My Teaching Style:
Learning begins with understanding the client. What material do you need to cover? How do you learn best? What are your goals?
Once we establish those answers, then we can move on to figuring out the best way to cover the concepts and practice problem solving. With enough hard work and time I firmly believe you can improve your grade!
My Cancellation Policy:
If you do not give me 24 hour notice when you cancel I will charge you for the session.
My knowledge of algebra 1 spans junior high, high school and college level algebra. For years I have helped students understand how to solve equations, graph functions, master polynomials and apply scientific notation. I am confident I can help you or your student understand and master the material.
Algebra 2 is like Algebra 1 amped up with additional concepts. In Algebra 2, systems of equations escalates from 2 to 3 variables. Students learn more about quadratics and polynomials. Matrices are introduced along with logarithms, rational exponents and radical functions.
Although geometry uses equations, radicals, and basic trig, it's a different animal than algebra.
Understanding geometry means you must know the theorems and be able to apply them in a visual problem or a proof. I have helped many students turn their geometry grades around, and I know I can help you.
With ten years of experience playing piano and two years of music theory, I am prepared to tutor piano. Finger position, keeping time and key changes are important to learn in addition to reading notes and knowing how to find their corresponding keys. Music should not only be structured and challenging, it should be fun. I bring all three elements to the table.
Excellent tutor — Elizabeth is an excellent tutor. If your child is willing, she will go the extra mile. I really appreciate all that she has done for my son this year. ...
