I'm a firm believer in hands-on learning. I like to use visuals to aide learning. I like to get to know my students and make learning fun by using what they like to help them learn. I define being a tutor as being a facilitator. I'm only here to help you learn how to help yourself. In the end, my real job is to make you so good at learning that you'll be able to do it independently. My end goal is to make you confident so that you'll be able to accomplish most of your work on your own.
I've worked as an ESL teacher in International Schools in Asia. I've worked with all age groups from 5 year olds to adults. I have taught high school English to mostly ESL students. We read all of the classics but had the best time with The Scarlet Letter. To help my non-English speaking students, I turned my classroom into a theater and had them act out scenes and characters.
