Hello there!

I am a 36 year old Biology/Chemistry licensed science teacher with significant tutoring and small-group instruction experience, teaching course content, OGT Prep, ACT/SAT Prep, and any other academic need you have. I was a National Merit Commended Scholar in HS, scored 31 on my ACT, approx. 1200 on my SAT, and can teach those test-taking strategies and skills to you. I'm personable and make science and math learning fun. The students and I will work TOGETHER to help them master the material. I am a guide for them to achieve their highest academic potential. Chemistry

I've taught General and Advanced Chemistry at the High School level for 6 years and have tutored a number of students in high school and college chemistry and science classes including general chem, organic chem, biology, anatomy, and statistics work.

Study Skills

I am a high school licensed teacher and have worked with students every year on time management, study skills, note-taking skills, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Basketball

I have had 12 years of coaching experience. I have coached all levels of youth and school ball. Coach elite level AAU teams that go to NCAA exposure events. I played through high school and a year in college.

Softball

I played soccer throughout my school years. I have coached at the high school and travel ball level.

Genetics

I've taken a genetics course. I have also taught it in high school biology courses, and helped develop a genetics course at my high school.

Organic Chemistry

I took a full year of college-level organic chemistry to get my teaching license. I have done extensive tutoring work for local organic chemistry students in nursing and other undergrad programs.

Praxis

I'm a licensed 7-12 Science teacher and in getting my license took all forms of the Praxis exam including the PLT and subject area tests. I also completed the Praxis III process.

Nutrition

I was a certified athletic trainer before going into teaching. I've taken a number of courses on nutrition.
