Bottom line: I get breakthrough results FAST. My last College Physics client is a case in point: after ONE 2-hour session, he achieved a perfect 100 on his next 2 quizzes! He only required 1 more 1-hour session after that to solidify the concepts covered on his final exam.
I achieved a 4.0 GPA in Chemical Engineering, so I was awarded National Science Foundation and Tau Beta Pi National Engineering fellowships for graduate school, where I completed a MS in Biochemistry from CWRU. I just finished teaching spring semester Physics and Meteorology at a private San Diego college, but have resettled in beautiful Ohio to connect with family, friends, and YES! all of you math and science students yearning to break FREE into the LIGHT of understanding.
I am a FUN and FOCUSED facilitator of learning for talented young minds wanting to achieve new levels of insight. My goal is to move my students and their parents past surface knowledge to deep understanding and mastery of subjects. I also believe each person has a specially designed purpose, and I seek to motivate their journey to discovering it!
Achieving success in learning science and math is much like excelling in track and field. When I was in high school, I participated in high jump and long jump, and the KEY to clearing the bar and soaring to new distances was all in a disciplined, methodical, and practiced approach, coupled with the bold confidence and energetic enthusiasm instilled by my coach!
I'm asking you to give me the privilege of being your academic and career coach now. So let's get started!
Often teachers, even good ones, have to focus so much on lecturing over broad topics that they don't have time to FOCUS on each student's areas of strength and weakness so that they can pinpoint areas they're stuck and help them over their specific hurdles.
When I tutor in math/science, I observe where a student is stuck, ask them probing questions that don't "give away" they answer so they have to wrestle with and attempt to integrate various pieces of what they've learned in class. Once they know the fundamentals and my "tricks of the trade," they can derive the solution to more advanced and complex problems by breaking them down methodically.
I have been tutoring my classmates, especially in match and science, all through school starting with 1st grade! Maybe that's because God graciously gave me a gift with numbers from an early age. In fact, I wrote the numbers from 1 to 4,436 when I was 3 years old!
