I have studied Latin for 13 years (since my freshman year of high school) and Greek for 8 years (since my sophomore year of college). I have a fluent reading knowledge of Latin, a strong reading knowledge of Greek, and a capable understanding of the principles of prose composition in both languages. I have not studied Latin or Greek as oral languages.
I have a passion for languages, especially dead ones! In addition to Latin and Greek, I have studied Sanskrit for a year and plan on re-learning it. I also have a reading familiarity with French and German, and I intend to teach myself Anglo-Saxon.
I tutored Latin at Wright State University and taught undergraduate level Latin for two years in graduate school. I discovered then that I could combine my love of language with my new-found love of teaching, and decided to try to become a professional Latin teacher. I hope to share my talent and joy with any students who are interested!
