I am a current Young Scholars Program instructor at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio. My responsibilities include providing math and science instruction for 8th - 12th grade students, as well as OGT preparation. I have 6 years experience with grade /middle school Algebra, 7 years experience with high school Algebra 1 and 4 years experience with college Algebra 1. Algebra 1 covers many fundamental skills and concepts required for all subsequent math courses. Algebra 1 develops the skills needed to solve problems while emphasizing the many structured ways to arrive at the solution.
I have 5 years experience with high school Algebra 2 and 3 years experience with college Algebra 2. Algebra 2 is a continuation of work completed in Algebra 1. Algebra 2 expands on the basic concepts learned in Algebra 1. Algebra 2 will explore further the relationships between numbers, shapes, and measuring distances.
I have written web based and .net C# applications using Visual Studion 2010 and 2012. The applications were designed to invoke the appropriate web service. Security requirements mandated both functional and Windows authentication using Registry data. I was also responsible for design systems deployment strategies.
I have written C++ code since 1998. The development tools I used included Visual Studio 2010, MULTI, Visual C++, and Pro-C. In addition, I completed 5 C++ computer science courses at Wright State University in Dayon, Ohio.
I have 2 years experience with high school Calculus and 5 years experience with college Calculus. Calculus is the basis of further mathematics and science study. I am familiar with the use of Mathematica and MATLAB with Calculus instruction.
I have Chemistry degree from the University of Minnesota. My strongest knowledge and experience areas are General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Physical Chemistry. The next strongest knowledge and experience areas are Inorganic Chemistry, and Biochemistry. I also have strong knowledge and experience with the Mathematics of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering calculations.
I have completed several differential equations courses at Wright State University in Dayon, Ohio. This included ordinary and partial differential equations. I have strong experience with differential equation applications and solution techniques; including Mathematica, MATLAB and Texas Instruments software
I have written Fortran code since 2001. The development tools I used included Visual Fortran, Intel Fortran, and Microsoft Fortran.
I have 4 years experience with high school Geometry and 2 years experience with college Geometry. Geometry has an emphasis on definitions, theorems, and postulates dealing with lines and planes, geometric equalities and inequalities, constructions of geometric figures, and measurement of segments, angles, area, and volume are emphasized.
I am a current Young Scholars Program instructor at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio. My responsibilities include providing math and science instruction for 8th - 12th grade students as well as OGT preparation. I have 4 years experience with high school Linear Algebra and 2 years experience with college Linear Algebra. Linear Algebra is designed to develop an appreciation for the process of mathematical abstraction and the creation of a mathematical theory.
I have a Chemistry degree from the University of Minnesota. This includes 3 quarters of organic chemistry, both lecture and lab. I also completed a senior thesis in heterocyclic [organic] chemisty.
My experience in Physical Science includes being a Young Scholars Program instructor at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, OH. My strongest knowledge ranking in the Physical Science categories is Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy, Earth Science. I also have strong knowledge and experience with the Mathematics of each Physical Science category. Physical Science consists of several categories: Astronomy, Physics, Chemistry, Earth Science. In order to teach Physical Science, a tutor / instructor must under the breakdown of categories in Physical Science. The tutor / instructor must make the effort to convey the concepts to their students.
My strongest knowledge and experience areas are General Physics, Vibration / Wave Physics, Classical Mechanics, Thermodynamics, and Electromagnetics. The next strongest knowledge and experience areas are Statistical Physics, Particle Physics, and Quantum Physics. I also have strong knowledge and experience with the Mathematical Physics. I am very familiar with the content of both the Halliday and Resnick and Serway and Jewett physics texts.
I have 6 years experience with high school Pre-Algebra and 2 years experience with college Pre-Algebra. Pre-Algebra is designed to prepare students for Algebra. The goal of Pre-Algebra is to teach students to apply logical reasoning mathematically and to connect mathematical skills to real-life activities.
I have 3 years experience with high school Pre-Calculus and 4 years experience with college Pre-Calculus. Pre-Calculus is a continuation of Algebra 2 (and Geometry), requiring a strong Algebra 2 background, and emphasizes advanced algebra and graphing skills with polynomial functions, exponential and logarithmic functions, and trigonometric functions.
An introduction to Calculus concepts will be studied appropriately.
I have 3 years experience with high school Trigonometry and 3 years experience with college Trigonometry. Trigonometry is a mathematics course that extends algebraic concepts and applications and that develops trigonometric functions and applications.
I have developed over several complex Visual Basic and Visual Basic.Net applications. These applications were enhancements to commerical time reporting software. I also developed a Visual Basic financial application that was an Excel addin.
