I have been tutoring for six years, with experience tutoring grades 5 through college.
In high school, I tutored other students in AP biology, U.S. history, government and English. These ranged from one on one tutoring sessions to group study, normally based off of class textbooks and professional study guide books.
In college, I worked for a year in an after school tutoring program for elementary students, focusing on science and social studies. I also worked for a year tutoring high school students in biology and chemistry. I tutored Introductory Psychology, Anthropology and Cultural Anthropology for my last two years in college.
I worked for two summers as an academic summer camp counselor, working with children ages 7 through 18. I am comfortable working with all ages.
I currently hold an honors Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Anthropology and work as a graduate teaching assistant for introductory classes. I'm currently a graduate student and passed in the 90th percentile or higher on the verbal and written sections of the revised GRE and higher than the 80th percentile on the quantitative section of the revised GRE. While I have not specifically tutored in the GRE, I have helped friends create study guides for the exam.
My tutoring style is very hands-on, letting the students learn how to form new study habits. I have taught students how to be active learners in their classrooms by teaching note-taking skills and study skills.
