I currently have a Master’s Degree in Education (M.Ed.) and am employed full time as a school psychologist for a small school district. I also have undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Spanish. I have experience with students of various cultural backgrounds, ability levels, and ages (from 3 to over 18 years of age). I truly enjoy seeing students succeed and believe that all students can have success by finding the learning strategies that work best for them. My goal is to help the student find those strategies and utilize them outside of tutoring sessions. I will do as much assessment as allowable from the beginning by talking to the student’s teachers, parents, and others; doing direct assessment of my own in the targeted subject areas; and reviewing any records, scores, or work samples that are provided. The assessment will allow me to truly know which skills the student has and does not have, and I can teach in a style that is most beneficial to the student.
