I have MS in Statistics. I have teaching experiences both in Ghana and USA. Working as Teaching Assistant in Ghana and as Graduate Assistant in The University of Akron, I helped students understand the statistics course by giving them real life examples that will help them easily remember how to approach a question. Due to my patience and detailed explanation of statistics concepts, most students prefer to show up for a tutoring section during my tutoring times.

In my quest to make students better understand and approach problems with great confidence, I always invest time in explaining the concepts behind any topic to be treated, solve at least two problems with the student, give the student two or more questions to work on in my presence and later give the student couple more questions to work on at home and bring his/her solution during our next meeting. By allowing the students to work in my presence, it gives me the opportunity to know if the student actually understands what I presented and gives me the chance to go over areas that the student may be lacking in. By giving the students a couple more questions to work on independently and checking the solution for accuracy, it help the students to have that courage to work on himself/herself and help him/her improve upon his/her understanding of the topic and speed of working.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. Very patient, indeed — I worked with Jerry for a limited time. His demeanor and mannerism makes him approachable. His knowledge, patience, attention to detail, and ability to explain problems in plain language helped me to understand statistical concepts that I struggled with the entire semester. I would certainly recommend him to anyone who needs help with statistics. ...
