I am a junior at Cornell University studying Economics. I have a 3.7 GPA and am very involved at school. I am a member of the Model United Nations Club, Amnesty International and several intramural teams. I also take part in research for a former professor of mine outside of school. I attended Brooklyn Technical Highschool where I took 5 AP's (all 5's and 4's) and received a 93.2 GPA. My SAT score was a 2120. I have taken SAT Subject Tests in Math and U.S. History, each scoring higher than 750.
I am currently a tutor at Kweller Prep in Forest Hills Queens. I have experience tutoring SAT, SHSAT, ELA and middle school Math. As a tutor I would take time with my students, which I believe is the best way to learn as well as teach. I do not tutor every student in the same way. Each child is different and that's why I take time to not strengths, weaknesses, interests and habits from each student before preparing lesson plans. I always encourage my students to think and question to help them further understand the topics they are having trouble in. I specialize in Math tutoring because that is my strongest subject but can do reading and writing as well. I love tutoring because it truly warms me to help students overcome difficulties in learning and understand that they can truly reach any of their goals. I want to help students aim to become successful in whatever their interests lead them to and the first step is always doing well in school. I want students to enjoy school and not see it as a burden. I really love tutoring and love helping kids!
