Hello everyone! I am a rising sophomore at The George Washington University who is absolutely one of the most passionate people you will ever meet in terms of having an interest in the wonderful world of history
! I am a double major in History and Art
History and I plan to declare minors in Spanish
and Political Science
this coming year. I am looking for students to tutor during this summer for the June regents
(I will be home May 9th). I love working with younger kids and I have lots of patience as I work with children with mental disabilities on a weekly basis. I have taken every AP History
and Government class and I can tutor accordingly, (as well as for Regents classes). I tutor with an individualized approach in which I use extensive prep materials and some of my own helpful, supplemental readings. I love tutoring and to date I've tutored for AP World History
, AP Art History
, and AP US History
with my students greatly improving their grades. Last summer, I tutored students for their US History and Global history regents, helping them to pass their tests. I have experience giving historical presentations and lectures at Syosset High School and Phi Alpha Theta History Honors Society's East-Regional Annual History Conference (I belong to this organization
). I also have experience writing
historical museum catalog articles for the Albert H. Small Americana Symposium.
To tell you a bit more about myself and my qualifications: in the AP history and government classes (again, I've taken all of them: AP European History
, AP Comparative Government & Politics
, AP United States Government & Politics, AP United States History & Government, and AP World History
), I have earned grades of only A's and A+'s, with AP scores of only 4's and 5's in my history classes. I am interested in all social studies
so my expertise does not end there! I have also taken courses and the corresponding AP exams for AP Human Geography
and AP Art History (in each of these, I had an A+ average and scored a 5 on the AP exam). I also took the SAT
Subject tests for World History and United States History on which I scored a 770/800 and a 750/800 respectively. On the Global History and Geography Regents I scored a 99% and on the United States History Regents I scored a 97%, so I am more than equipped (and delighted) to help out Regents level students as well as art students.
To sum up, I love history and working with kids and I can relate very well as I just passed through High School. I am extremely passionate about what I do and I aspire to become a history teacher. My students in the past have attained higher grades in their subject areas with my help. I can't wait to hear from you guys!
