Patient and personable English and ASL tutor

Hello, my name is Bethany. I am a graduate student at SUNY Geneseo for B-12 Reading and Literacy, and have my initial certification for 7-12 English Education. I am very proficient in my field and take great pride in teaching. My weak subjects are math, science, and history. I do not feel secure enough in those subjects to properly tutor them, and would not risk a students education on my lack of proper knowledge. I am however very well educated in American Sign Language, and would love to tutor students in this exciting and useful language! I attended RIT-NTID for a year and a half in the American Sign Language Interpretation program before I transferred into SUNY Geneseo for education. I greatly look forward to hearing from anyone who is looking for a tutor in either of these fields (English reading/writing or ASL) and am excited to begin working together. Sign Language

I have studied American Sign Language for two and a half years at both MCC and RIT-NTID. I was enrolled at NTID (National Technical Institute for the Deaf) in the ASL Interpreting program for a year and a half. During that time I was completely immersed in the deaf community and attended many deaf events. I have been enrolled in higher education for over five years now and am very experienced in public speaking.
