Hello, my name is Colleen and I am a Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Microbiology, Nutrition, and Science tutor. I have a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Canisius College, a Master's degree in Dairy Science from Louisiana State University, and a Doctorate in Animal & Dairy Science from The University of Georgia. My graduate school coursework included over 70 credit hours in Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Nutrition.

I have over 20 years' experience teaching at the college or university level and three years' experience as a tutor. As a former Associate Professor of Biology I taught Anatomy, Physiology, and Nutrition at a local college for 8 years and prior to that I taught Anatomy & Physiology I & II, Microbiology, Nutrition, Biology I & II, and Remedial Math in the states of Tennessee and Georgia.

The thing I most enjoyed about my job as an Associate Professor of Biology was the one-to-one time helping a student in my office. This included further explaining the subject matter, discussing study skills, learning styles, and time management. My greatest joy was seeing a student turn their grade around after seeking my help during office hours.

In addition, I regularly held extra study sessions to give the students more time to ask questions and review material for upcoming exams. My students highly recommended me to their friends and described me as a Professor who takes the time to help the students individually and who cares about the students and their success.

I can help with college or high school science coursework, homework, and test preparation. I enjoy working with people of all ages, from children to college students. I have the most experience tutoring college and high school students, but am more that happy to work with children as well. I have a flexible schedule with time available during the day as well as after school.

I am great at explaining tricky concepts in a way that is easy to understand and easy to remember. I offer a kind and caring environment for students of all needs. My students have improved their study skills and understanding of the concepts and how to apply them. My students have been successful in completing their work and reaching their goals. My students have increased their confidence so they were more successful in test and exam situations.

Please contact me to discuss your tutoring needs or how I can help you or your child!

Excellent Teacher Dr. Colleen has the experience and the knowledge to help our 11th grader on both IB and AP biology. She is result-driven, patient, and a great mentor for bridging our girl to college. Without her help, our daughter would not have achieved SAT 740 (because her bio school teacher commented impossible given what has been taught at school). ...
