Local College Instructor to Tutor in Sciences and Some Math

I have nearly 11 years experience teaching the Sciences to junior high, high schoolers, and college students. I studied Biology with a minor in chemistry in college, and went on to do research in a local medical school before going into teaching.

I have found that when teaching it is important to get students to understand the big picture. Once the big picture is understood, all of the details usually fall into place.

Finally, I believe that one on one tutoring can be a great way for students to get their level of understanding up. It allows for a personalized approach and explanation of the material, and instant feedback from the instructor.

Genetics

I have studied and taught genetics at both the undergraduate and graduate level. The study of genetics can be as basic as looking at the fundamentals which would begin with the basics of hereditary traits, Mendeleev, Punnet Squares, and recessive/dominant traits.
