Tutoring is the most fun and the most rewarding job I’ve ever had in my life, and I’ve had a pretty varied life. For thirteen years I was a reporter for The Litchfield County Times in Connecticut. In addition to interviewing celebrities like television actress Susan Saint James and world-renowned playwright Arthur Miller, I covered exciting stuff like murder trials and political corruption. When I moved to Rockland County, I got a job in corporate communications. The newsletter I wrote and edited won three of the most prestigious prizes awarded internal publications, and then I started writing novels. Tutoring was supposed to help pay the bills, but tutoring ended up being so wonderful, it's my new career (though I still write novels). My approach is to pack every session with support, with humor and, most importantly, with learning.

Proofreading

I write cover copy for Penguin Books. Every word has to be carefully selected and every sentence has to be perfect because the author is counting on my little blurb to sell their novel. A major part of copy writing is proofing and rewriting my words until they are polished to a diamond-like clarity.
