Greek

I am a native speaker; both my parents were born in Greece and I spoke Greek before I spoke English. I also studied in Greek School for 8 years and took the NYS Regents in Modern Greek, passing with a score of 96%.

Public Speaking

I have been presenting research since freshman year of high school, and was involved in a science research program which mandated a presentation a month. I received multiple honors for my presentations. I also took an Oral Presentations class in college.

Regents

I have taken the NYS Regents in Math A, Math B, Living Environment, Chemistry, Physics, English, Russian Language, and Greek Language, and received honors for high scores on regents exams on my diploma. I have successfully provided tutoring to students for all of these exam topics.

Russian

I studied Russian in high school (freshman through junior year), and am currently a Russian minor in college (so far, at least one class per semester for 3 years in college). I have completed my 2nd year of advanced literature seminars in Russian (reading Dostoyevsky, Pushkin, etc in Russian), and know advanced grammar.

Approved Subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet certified in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
