Letter to prospective students:
Hi, I thank you for taking the time to read this. I have a very diverse background, with major emphasis in Science, Physics and Engineering. I was very advanced at an early age in my comprehension and application of newly learned science principles and found I was able to easily share this with fellow classmates. In almost every instance, there are practical examples of almost any scientific principle, that when related to common experience, make the comprehension of the principle easy to understand. I have found that this is one of the greatest obstacles in one's difficulty in grasping many scientific concepts. Once comparison is made with day to day examples of science in motion, the process can be easy to understand, as well as fun to learn and expand upon. I found that by routinely sharing in classrooms (as a student), many other students experienced breakthroughs, much to their and the teachers' delight.
Prior to this, I was an active artist in Painting and Drawing, and initially studied Fine Arts in college. Ultimately, I chose to major in engineering, emphasis in Electrical Engineering. I have been in the Fine and Graphic Arts fields (especially computer graphics and web design) for many years professionally as well as in the engineering field as the owner of a NYC small business. As both an artist and a lover of science, and an aspiring electrical engineer, I had a successful business designing and building professional assemblies and equipment for recording studios for many years. As much of this technology has now shifted to exclusively computer based recording and editing, I have now chosen to assist others in learning many of my ways of going about problem solving, often in a unique, though practical manner. Years and years of experience provide me with this edge, which I am happy to share with prospective students.
