Hello! My name is Nicole and I am a NYS Licensed Teacher. I hold licenses from birth-grade 6 in both general education and special education, with a BA in Speech & Language as well as a Masters in Literacy. I am currently on Child Care Leave and have been providing at-home tutoring services to children for the past 2 years.
Being well aware of the Core Curriculum Standards present in the school systems, I fully incorporate them into all lessons and plans. As a teacher for 8 years and now a mother of 2 (one of which is in school), I value the importance of communication between teachers and home. I make it a point to always have an open line of communication with the teachers of the children I work with, therefore we are always on the same page, can discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the child, and share techniques/strategies that appear to be working.
I take at-home tutoring just as serious as my job as a full-time teacher, if not more. It is a chance for a child to receive that special, individualized, 1 on 1 attention he/she needs to strive and succeed.
