Greetings! I recently received my my Master of Science in Social Work degree with a specialization in Policy Practice from Columbia University. I spent my last semester interning for the Congressional Research Service, out of the Library of Congress, doing quantitative and qualitative policy research, analysis, and writing. I have much experience working with youth between the ages of 5 and 20. I have a very diverse and well-rounded educational background. I majored in Adolescent Psychology and English Lit and minored in Women's Studies in undergrad. I am also well traveled and as a result am very culturally aware. I actually have quite a bit of experience tutoring high school students in the areas of mathematics and reading, writing, and grammar. My style for teaching/tutoring encompasses a strength-based perspective, which recognizes and utilizes the strength of each student to help ameliorate areas that need improvement. I am genuinely passionate about helping students succeed through the use of creative and innovative means. I do not use the same teaching style or approach for each student because I know that no two students are alike and no two students learn the same way. I hope this gives you a good idea of what type of tutor I am and what I can offer to students in need of extra services. Thanks for viewing my profile!!
