Hi, my name is Joe and I've been teaching/tutoring students in math and sciences for the past 7 years. I was born and raised in Brooklyn until I headed off to college at Binghamton University, where I received a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a BS in Mathematics. After that, I came back to Brooklyn as a NYC Teaching Fellow for math. I taught a variety of subjects at Midwood High School in Brooklyn for 6 years, including physics, math, robotics, AutoCAD. I now live in Queens.
I attribute my success as an educator to my solid knowledge of many subject areas, along with a patient, friendly, and understanding personality. I'm not one of those socially awkward math and science guys that can understand every fact and figure in a textbook but struggles to explain one to another person. I am a musician who plays guitar and piano, likes to hang out with friends and watch sports. Despite having a sense of humor and being able to relate to students, I mean business when it comes to encouraging students to succeed. Bottom line is that I can take someone who is academically struggling in one of my subject areas a far way in not too much time.
