I would like to start tutoring, because I enjoy helping people gain new knowledge and I'm looking forwards practical applying of my skills in this type of a career.
Nowadays, I'm a student at SUNY Purchase College, and I'm working on the completion of my Bachelor's Degree in Studio Production within the Conservatory of Music.
I graduated from Rockland Community College in Suffern, NY with the Associate's Degree in Communication and Media Arts program. I worked as an intern for Audio Production Communications Practicum at that college.
I am interested in Arts tutoring, because I possess musical skills. Traditionally, music schools only accept students with the pitch hearing and the ability of the sound recognition. In my case, I have been involved into musical activities since my childhood. Therefore, I easily passed the hearing test and enrolled to the Music School. Eventually, I graduated from there. Now, I own the Music School Diploma with the highest grades. I completed eight years of studying which included tremendous involvement. I am a piano player and have an experience of participation in regional and international concerts, festivals, and competitions. My major was Piano, but I also studied Harmony, Music History, sang in a chorus, and played in ensembles which required complicated performance techniques in order to follow the partner. I was playing with flutists, a violinist, and accompanied to singers. In high school, I performed in two rock bands. I also received third place in the First Music Theory and Music History Contest for Music Schools Students held across Russia in 2006. This particular competition, actually, included several tests on the recognition of intervals, pitches, scales, modes, and harmonies. I participated in concerts in Russia and went to the First International Festival in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, China. My first recording sessions, actually, began in the Music School when students and teachers were recording the live performance audio.
At the present time, I perform different local musical activities. I am learning hand drumming and plan on starting to familiarize myself with the guitar techniques. I had several jam sessions in my previous college and with local bands. I'm also planning on getting an internship in Sound Recording and Mixing and becoming a member of a band.
While studying in the community college, I was utilizing my musical skills in audio recording software such as Pro Tools LE 8, Reason, Garage Band, Audacity, Audio Recorder. Nowadays, I make studio recordings using advanced editing, mixing, and MIDI techniques as well as the recording equipment, mainly, within Pro Tools 9 and Reason. I would like to realize my musical skills in Studio Production and receive the Bachelor's Degree in this major.
My tutoring methods consist of a simple outline of learning the techniques and helping improve the skills of students by encouraging the regular practice. Everyone has different capacities and learning styles. However, in my opinion, practicing and repeating the learned lessons is highly recommended.
My special skills include fluency in both the English and Russian languages, therefore, I am able to use this ability professionally if needed.
