Algebra 1

I have tutored Algebra to high school students in Niskayuna New York for seven years. I use alternative examples and problems to clarify the fundamentals. I treat Algebra as a fundamental building block for other math subjects and for many science and social science disciplines. My students came away understanding areas that confused them and succeeded in progressing on.

####
Algebra 2

I reinforced Algebra 2 topics while tutoring undergraduates at Syracuse University, who were struggling with Calculus. Like Algebra 1, Algebra 2 is a key building block for Calculus, many science and social science topical areas. The concept of imaginary numbers is one that can be particularly confusing as can the concepts of the log function. These take different thinking and are key areas for review. Most recently, I have tutored all levels of Algebra to college students.

####

I taught Calculus to freshmen, non-Math majors at Syracuse University. I have also tutored on a one on one basis, most recently as preparation for taking the AP Calculus examination.

####

I have tutored Geometry to Niskayuna High School students for 6 years and to undergraduate non-Math majors at Syracuse University.

####
Prealgebra

I tutored high school students at Niskayuna High School in upstate New York for seven years in Pre-Algebra topics. The basics of fractions, square roots, number systems need to be clearly understood before introducing variables and equations.

####
Precalculus

I tutored Precalculus for 6 years to Niskayuna High School Students and to undergraduate students at Syracuse University. In both cases, I did this to prepare the students for differential and integral Calculus.

####
Trigonometry

Trigonometry introduces properties and proofs regarding polygons and triangles, in particular. In my seven years of tutoring Niskayuna High School students in Trigonometry, I tried to make the steps associated with proofs interesting and satisfying. The world is made up of polygons. Computer simulation and graphics are all about triangles and mesh-making which is grounded in Trigonometry.

####
Statistics

I have taught Statistics at the junior college level and have applied statistics to solve human resource issues on my job. I will use examples to make Statistics more understandable than theoretical. I have very recent experience tutoring college students in many statistics topics.

####
SAT Math

I have tutored each of the math topics covered by the SATs for several years and am very familiar with strategies and shortcuts to improve success on SAT math questions. Most recently, I tutored students in preparation for both PSAT and SAT Math.

####
SAT Reading

I will use strategies and skills-based learning to help students mitigate anxiety and be best prepared for the SAT Reading test. Most recently, I tutored students in preparation for both PSAT and SAT Reading.

####

I will use strategies and grammar fundamentals to mitigate anxiety and provide a clear path for students to be successful on this test. Most recently, I tutored students in preparation for the SAT Writing segment.

####
Probability

I taught Probability to junior college students at Schenectady County Community College in New York State. I have also tutored Probability to Niskayuna High School students for 6 years.

####
Public Speaking

I have professional experience as a Public Affairs Officer and am trained in public speaking and in conducting Press Conferences. I have taught courses in One-On-Many Communications, including planning, preparation execution and seeking feedback to evaluate effectiveness.

####
Logic

I tutored Niskayuna High School students in logic for seven years. I stressed for them how the truth tables and the logical relationships build upon each other. So much of software languages have their basis in logic, translated into electronic impulses recognized by computer hardware. I use examples in software languages for how logic is used.
