I have been a private tutor for almost 4 years. I worked with elementary aged children as young as kindergarten and as old as fifth grade. I worked with my students mostly on reading, vocabulary, and phonics. As the students got older, I taught them study skills for the ELA, how to do research for research projects and any other help the students' parents asked of me. I did some work with mathematics, but my students mostly struggled in reading and understanding concepts so that was our main focus.
I received my Bachelor's degree in childhood education for grades 1-6 from Dowling College and I graduated in May 2011. I am currently a per diem substitute teacher in Smithtown Central School District, and I am attending SUNY Stony Brook for the Spring semester to work my way towards receiving my Master's degree.
