My name is Shannon, I am 23 and I am a certified elementary teacher as well as a math teacher. I graduated from Mount Saint Mary College in 2011 with my bachelors in Math. I am currently working on my Masters in Literacy!

I am enthusiastic and outgoing. I love teaching students of all ages! I believe it is very important to have fun with school. Students must understand work but also enjoy it! I try to make learning fun and exciting. It also important to realize that not every student learns the same way. I have many different approaches to help each individual student learn to the best of their abilities.

I am currently looking for a full time teaching position. I tutor four kids already privately and sub on a daily basis in different districts. I am also a swim instructor and certified lifeguard.

Algebra 1

When I work with algebra students I make the subject content relate to their lives and show it to them in a way that is not about "math" but about life.

Elementary Math

I am a certified math teacher as well as an elementary teacher. I love math but I can bring it down to an elementary level. The building blocks of math start in elementary school. Learning tricks for multiplication and division are important because everything stems from those lessons. When I work with elementary aged students I make learning fun and exciting while still teaching them the important math lessons they need to succeed in school.
