I am a certified chemistry teacher, grades 7-12. I have a B.A. in chemistry and chemical engineering from University of California-Santa Barbara and recent post-graduate work in analytical chemistry at Rochester Institute of Technology. I am working on my master of arts in teaching at SUNY Empire State College, learning the most effective teaching methods from experienced teachers and students.
I have real-world experience in chemistry at DuPont, Kodak, and the Monroe County Crime Lab. I am currently substitute teaching in eight school districts in Monroe County, grades 6-12. In addition, I'm a Boy Scout Merit Badge Instructor for chemistry and nuclear science at the Rochester Museum and Science Center.
Each students learns in his or her own way, so I will spend time with you to see how I can best help you. I am a good test taker and will pass on my test-taking strategies. As a new teacher, I am very familiar with the New York State curriculum and Regents. I can also help you with physical chemistry and physics, as well as introductory chemistry courses at the community college level.
I have a background working with students with special needs.
I look forward to working with you!
