I started working with Gary after I scored in the 20th percentile on the practice GRE. I'm up to 80% on the verbal section and 70% on the quantitative section and still climbing. Gary is knowledgeable about what is on the GRE and will tell you exactly what you should be working on. He is patient and encouraging as you struggle, but will remain tough enough to get you to your target score. I give Gary my highest recommendation as a tutor and believe that he can support anyone up to the score that they want! Well worth it!

My experience with Gary has been a positive one. I would recommend Gary for help with any standardized test. Gary has a wealth of standardized testing knowledge. He shows up on time and is understanding and personable. I am still working with Gary to reach my target goal and have full confidence together it will be achieved.

Gary is obviously highly intelligent, and he is great at applying the knowledge to his tutoring sessions. I came into the sessions hoping to improve my GRE scores. I had taken the GRE three years before and earned scores significantly lower than I wanted, but was granted admission to a masters program. Still wanting to continue my education, I knew I had to improve those scores to send out applications to doctoral programs. I took a GRE practice test and scored average in the verbal section but significantly lower in the math (8th percentile). I contacted Gary and prepaid for ten sessions with him. I felt very comfortable with him when he would come to my home, and he helped me to improve my math to the 40th percentile in those ten sessions. Gary is extremely professional; always on time, prepared, and very helpful. I credit Gary to the improvement in my scores, and I now feel confident in submitting my scores to the university of my choice.
Gary replied on 12/6/2013:
Thank you for the kind words, Brittany. I like working with disciplined students like you who do the necessary work to earn higher scores on their test. Congratulations and good luck in grad school!
"Amazing Tutor and Person!!! MUST HIRE."
Rafael from Rochester, NY on 2/9/13
Gary was far far beyond any expectations I had for an LSAT tutor. His knowledge of the test is far superior to any of the current Kaplan teachers. He is extremely well at adapting to the student he is working with, the strengths and weaknesses and makes himself more than available to anybody with time restrictions. He is a sweet nice man who will not only raise your lsat score through his methodical teaching habits but he will provide interesting commentary from past experiences and help assure the student to keep their thoughts positive. Gary is the BEST!!!!

Prior to working with Gary I was frustrated, and didn't know where to turn. I had taken an LSAT course from a well known company that got me nowhere. After taking lessons with Gary I was able to focus on specific areas I was having trouble with, and my score doubled. I learned specific time strategies and learned which questions to attack first and what I needed to look for in the reading comp section. If you're hitting your target score don't contact Gary but if you aren't I highly recommend you email Gary to book your next appointment with him.
"Knowledgeable and easy to work with"
Peter from Rochester, NY on 8/31/12
After realizing I was not as prepared as I should be to take the GMAT I called Gary on a Saturday morning and told him I was taking the test in less than two weeks. He responded to my email immediately and we were meeting for our first session within a few hours. Gary was well prepared to teach all aspects of the exam- but carefully focused on key elements that undoubtedly increased my score. He is personable, knowledgeable, and easy to interact with. Most importantly, he is a big reason I was accepted to a top business school. I would recommend Gary to any student looking for similar results.
"Gary gets Results!"

Gary is in one word, great; he is deeply devoted and passionate toward his students. I desperately needed help in raising my GRE scores, and was virtually illiterate in mathematics. After choosing Dr. Gary as a tutor, I was able to raise my scores from 850 to 1100 and won a doctoral fellowship at the University of Kansas in History. I truly believe that without his help and guidance I never could have attained what I have. Gary was always extremely positive and encouraged me to keep working, even through some extremely stressful times in attempting to relearn math. His perseverance and dedication to helping students sets him apart from others. Shortly after taking the GRE he even called to see how I had done. His actions, not just his words demonstrated that he truly cared about my achievements. We worked together for nearly four months, and in that time he taught me ten years of mathematics in a highly respectful manner, never patronizingly, as some tutors have, but most importantly he played an integral role in attaining my scholastic goals. I highly recommend Gary to anyone needing a tutor, he is intelligent, reliable, compassionate, and enthusiastic about helping his students achieve success in the frightening world of standardized testing.
"Excellent choice for a GRE tutor"
Megan from Kansas City, MO on 1/20/11
I worked with Gary for about two months leading up to my GRE, and in that time he helped me relearn math skills and increase my score by 360 points. He also helped me with verbal strategies and the essay portion. Gary was patient, flexible and very communicative. He explained concepts in a way that made them much easier to understand, and provided constructive and realistic feedback throughout our sessions to help me reach my ideal scores. Even at a point when I thought I'd never get the scores I wanted, he was supportive and really helped keep me on track. If I had just studied from a book, I know there's no way I would have gotten the scores I needed for graduate school. I would highly recommend Gary as a tutor - he's a pro and really knows his stuff. It is evident that he has years of experience and success helping students reach their testing goals. Thanks Gary!
"Great GRE tutor!"
Leo from Shawnee, KS on 10/11/10
Gary is a great tutor. I took GRE tutoring from him. He is easy to get a hold of and communicate with. After lessons with him I can confidently say I know how to read the passages in the reading section of the test. Gary is a valuable asset when preparing for the GRE. I’m sure he can give you good tips for taking the test if it close to test time. However, I feel a student of his will gain more confidence and a higher score if you start to book lessons with him months ahead from test date. Gary helped me achieve one of my most difficult goals. He helped me reach the goal of being accepted to vet school. If anyone wants help with the GRE, I strongly recommend Gary!

Gary is so incredibly brilliant in so many areas that it simply astounds you. He is kind, good humored, and very encouraging, and has made huge, huge strides with our son. Our son is trying to bring up his ACT score from a very low score. Gary has helped him in Math, Science, and English & Reading. He has taught him time saving 'tricks' that enable the student to finish the test accurately, and in a timely manner. Our son has scored high on all areas now with practice ACT's. He has gained so much confidence now, when before he had pretty bad test anxiety. Our son has such admiration for him and told me he was the smartest man he has ever known!
