I'm from Washington, DC and have been teaching for about five years now. Currently a fourth year medical student. My goal is to make sure nobody thinks math is a four-letter-word! Tutoring works well for me because when I study, I work on an idea until it makes sense to me - and if I can make sense of it - anybody can make sense of it. I can help anybody. I've had tremendous success in the past helping students get grades they never thought were possible.

In the past, I've taught calculus I-III, differential equations, advanced calculus, discrete math, and trigonometry. I'm a very visual person, so graphs make a lot of sense to me, and I get a lot of satisfaction helping others achieve that "a-ha" moment. I was also a pre-med student (also a paramedic, and can help with NCLEX, EMT, etc.), so I can help with all areas of the sciences contained in the premed track (and, of course, high school science subjects) as well as all medical school subjects. I grew up in DC, so, I was fortunate enough to learn Spanish both verbally and in written format. I hope to be able to help you with whatever questions you may have! Questions? E-mail me!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Differential Equations

Differential Equations is actually my favorite subject. I have experience with first-order linear and separable equations, second-order equations and first-order systems, linear equations and linearization, numerical and qualitative analysis, and laplace transforms. In upper level classes, I've dealt with eigenvalues, eigen-vectors, Jordan normal forms, linear systems of differential equations, phase portrait analysis, Hamiltonian systems, stability theory. More excitingly, I love applications to systems arising in mechanics, economics, ecology, electrical circuit theory, etc. Questions? Just ask!

Microbiology

I am a 3rd year medical student with extensive training in microbiology including bacteriology, virology, parasitology, and laboratory diagnosis. I peer-tutored during medical school. I have had exposure to both diagnosis and treatment of diseases, including microbiological pharmacology.

Pharmacology

I am a third year medical student as well as a paramedic - my knowledge is both didactic and practical. I am very well versed in all areas of pharmacology. My strengths are in cardiovascular and critical care pharmacology. If you have any questions - ask away!
