Presently, I am a part-time adjunct professor at a local college teaching beginning Spanish. In addition, I teach Spanish to a group of five engineers two hours a week. They must travel monthly to Spanish-speaking countries. My educational experience includes over twenty years teaching both French and Spanish to students in elementary school through college. I enjoy meeting new students of all ages and teaching them the language and culture of another country. I was very fortunate at the age of nineteen to live and study in Paris, France for over a year. I have also had extensive experience working for several corporations where I traveled to both South America and Mexico. Today, working in a global economy, it is even more important than ever before to master at least, one other language besides English. Each individual has certain strengths and weaknesses when learning a new language. The essential ingredient for successful language learning is to recognize that it is a partnership between the teacher and the student. As your tutor, I will encourage you to work hard and I will work just as hard right along side of you to achieve your goal of learning and mastering a new language.
