I am a professional physicist who has taught college level physics and mathematics, and tutored at the high school level. I started tutoring when I was a stay-at-home dad and I was looking for an excuse to get out of the house. Now I tutor during the summer when I'm not teaching full time. I can help with college math or physics, as well as preparation for AP and Regents exams.
I really like teaching one-on-one, especially when we get to the "oh, I get it." My goal is to help you learn the material both so that you can understand it, and so that you can apply it -- for doing homework, for taking exams, or for preparation for future coursework or employment.
In addition to physics and math, I can also provide instruction in computer programming, computer networking, and the Unix operating system, including Linux. If you have some previous programming experience I can teach you how to write Apps for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod, or how to build your own computer. If you don't have previous programming experience I can help you get started by learning JavaScript in your web browser.
